Plant Health Care

Plants have a need for appropriate placement, proper planting, water management, nutrition, proper sunlight or shade and healthy soils populated with beneficial microbes. If these needs are not met, plants become weak and cannot defend against stressful situations such as drought, pest and disease infestations. As with people, when plants are strong and healthy, their own potent natural immune system can resist most stress related problems.

The vast majority of all insect and disease problems encountered by plants can be attributed to one or more of their basic growing needs. Cultural practices which contribute to plant stress include, but are not limited to, improper methods of:

  • species selection / placement
  • nursery plant quality
  • planting technique
  • soil conditions
  • cutting or paving over roots
  • fertilization practices
  • watering practices
  • mulching techniques
  • pruning
  • pest and disease control applications

Plant Health Care Programs

We will create a sustainable, proactive plan to manage your landscape needs and visit your property on a consistent pre-determined schedule. We perform an evaluation of your landscape including all plants, trees and soil. Evaluations may range from the aerial inspections of the shoots in the tree canopy to the health of the roots in your potted plants. We will then recommend, if necessary, changes of cultural practices and or prescribed treatments. We do not promote the use of chemicals in any horticulture practice but in certain situations they may be recommended (ie. Plant is at risk of serious decline or death if left untreated).

The results that we achieve in your landscape can only be achieved through a joint effort. Proper communication between the client and Signature Tree Care is very important and vital to the success of the program.

Plant Health Care Program Elements:

What does Plant Health Care Cost?

Well-implemented plant health care programs can result in long-term savings. Well-maintained landscapes have fewer problems. Your landscape will begin to work as a balanced system and the amount of services necessary will decrease. Therefore, costs associated with corrective actions will be reduced or eliminated (ie. pest control, fertilizing, watering, replacement, etc.) as time passes.
